The mention of crack puts me in mind of the late former Mayor of Toronto, Ontario, Rob Ford. Among other things, he was accused of using crack on the job. He denied it fervently, but video evidence proved that he was a user. (Even worse, he and his brother Doug (the current Premier of Ontario) dealt drugs when they were teenagers).
He died shortly after leaving office- but it wasn't caused by crack.
I always thought he should have been Mayor of Gotham City or Metropolis the way he carried on- certainly he was stranger than fiction.
